Default Carly for BMW bricked my FRM module

I guys, I new on here but found some useful info regarding my problem on here , so joined up.
I had previously successfully coded my mirrors to fold and some other basic coding with the iCarley android app on our E92. I was pulling a fault code for a lumpy cold start idle and had a look at the coding options again. I noticed my electochromatic dimming was not active, so I set it to active and hit the code button. About 30 seconds later a message came up in the drive screen that said, electrical failure! with a list of things that will not be working, including indicators and side lights. After a few f***s and some googling I came to the conclusion that my FRM module has been bricked. Ł350 from the dealer and getting it programmed and fitted to the car on Friday. So no more Bluetooth coding for me!

Hi, i did not tried Carly app, but FRM sometimes dies when coding or programming, and even at the dealer. Often dies when you code without power supply.

It has nothing to do with power supply, your car probably had the FRM2 module. These are known for bricking.

Do NOT code these, it might brick your car.

How to know if you got an FRM2: if your car has been built in 2007 and 2010 your car has probably the FRM2 module.

Why going to the dealer for this?
Just get a used one and code it. Most used FRM2 go for 50 quids to 100 quids top
10mn to swap, 5mn to code
