Default Charging booster diode - E39 540i

Hi all.

I have replaced my battery with a flooded lead calcium one and now thanks to the low to moderate charging voltage I am getting (13.9 - 14.1) the thing never fully charges. They don't tell you that in the brochure!

Has anyone used a 0.7V silicon power diode in series with the voltage sensor circuit to increase charge voltage? If so where did you put it? I can't even see an alternator fuse anywhere on this car and I don't fancy pulling apart the alternator just to solder this across the regulator.

Many thanks

Sorry Ed.

I have put this in the wrong section. :/ Can it be moved to "BMW diagnostics and repair"?
