Default Auto connection with DIS

Hi, I am using DIS v57.0 software with VMware and I am having trouble auto connecting to my car (2006 330xi). I can connect to the DiagHead, as well as make connection in the Administration tab without any problems. However, when I go to diagnosis tab the software won't auto connect to my car. Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem is? I am using a 16-pin connector from the OBD port on my car to a USB connector which plugs into my computer. INPA works just fine. Any suggestions to this would be great.
