Default E36 OBD1 - Error writing to ABG (ZAE2.C05) but no problem reading it..

Hi all,

I hope you can help me with this issue.

First off, I got into coding when I got my E90 (OBD2). Was able to code all the modules on that no problem.

Recently picked up an E36 (OBD1) with an airbag problem (seat occupancy sensor is faulty) so I wanted to code out the seat occupancy sensor.

I had previously checked and cleared codes with INPA with no problems, but it did struggle to read some of the modules. I went into NCSExpert and selecting EWS it reads my cars information okay (VIN, modules etc) and I can read the ABG module (ZAE2.C05) and open it with NCSDummy without issue.

Unfortunately when I go to write the .MAN file back for the ZAE2.C05 module with SG_CODIEREN, I get the following errors:

Code:
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht IFH-0009: SG nicht angeschlossen oder meldet sich nicht C_ZAE2
COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht  SG_CODIEREN
Translation:
Code:
COAPI-2020: SG does not respond IFH-0009: SG not connected or does not log C_ZAE2
COAPI-2020: SG does not answer SG_CODE

Also tried writing the base ZAE2.C05 back and that gave the same issue. Tried with ignition both on and off. Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks

EDIT: I am using a USB->OBD2 K+DCAN cable with an OBD2 -> OBD1 (ADS) adapter.
I have INPA etc. set to OBD interface.

Default

I believe you can't write to airbag without true ADS and real serial port setup because it uses L-line
