Default E39 LCM 4 scanner PA soft "not found"

Hello All,

Hope you can help..

I have a 2003 530i, traced my troubles to a faulty LCM (lights stay on, signals not working, etc...)..no blown fuses, checked everything else I can think of...

Found a replacement one on EBAY, same part number, hw and sw versions..

Put it in the car, and almost everything now works correctly, except...

The only things not working are the turn signals indicators on the dash (green arrows, and tick tock sound) and high beam indicator. The actual exterior turn signals and high beam lights work fine!

I bought the bmw scanner 1.4, set it up on an xp laptop, and seems to connect correctly to the odbc port, finds modules, except for the LCM...which it shows as "not found". I can't set mileage on it since it does not even see it. I did some reset and it zeros the mileage out on it i think. The scanner has pin 7 and 8 connected together. pin 1 and 2 are not connected together...saw some threads talking about these pins.

Using the pa soft app, the instrument cluster module shows and you can do a indicator test, which i did, and it lights up all the dash indicators, and swings the speedometer and tach, so I know the leds and lights are all good.

Do i need something else besides pa soft?

Looking for suggestions how to straighten this out!

Thanks.
