Default E60 cant communicate with INPA\NCSExpert

Hi. I have been trawling the forums/internet for the last week to see if I can get started coding. I seem to be able to communicate with the car but only Battery and Ignition indicator in INPA. Scripts in INPA and NCSExpert doesnt work.

I hope anyone can give some input on how to get further. I hope its something basic since this is my first attempt (so bare over with me )

Status:
- E60 from 2009 (520d with CHAMP radio, no sat/nav/bluetooth/phone)
- Windows 8.1 fully updated
- Used the following guide: [Only for registered users... ] except using folder E60 instead of E89
- Using the following BMW INPA K D-CAN /DCAN USB Interface OBD2 EOBD Diagnostic Tool Cable : [Only for registered users... ]
- Using COM1

The INPA 5.0.6 shows\detects ignition and battery fine. Loading any scripts gives an error : No response from controlunit
The NCSExpert 4.0.1 (Using revtor ncsdummy4 profile) cant read info from the CAS/LMA. Gives an error : VIN is faulty: COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht IFH-0009: SG nicht angeschlossen oder meldet sich nicht CAS.

In both INPA and NCSExpert I can see the red led flash when it tries to communicate with the car.

The D-Can GUI utility gives error : Timeout answer
The D-Can DOS utility gives error : Adapter not Connected

My ini-files communication parameters is like this:

EDIBAS.INI :

;#################
;# EDIABAS 7.3.0 #
;#################

;================================================= ====================

[Configuration]
;================================================= ====================

;RemoteHost = LMUC203404
RemoteHost = 192.168.68.1
;Port = 3000

OBD.INI:

Default

The error: "No response from controlunit"
As well as the "
The D-Can GUI utility gives error : Timeout answer
The D-Can DOS utility gives error : Adapter not Connected" which is being displayed may mean a faulty cable. I have a 520d N47 2009 LCI E60 and the first few cables I bought off eBay didn't work correctly. Although they may look the same, the cable I ended up buying worked fine. I don't get the ign and batt lights but I can connect and read codes etc
