Default E85 - Coding VIN on new Airbag-Control-Unit

Hi,

my old Airbag-Control-Unit is broken (Step up converter defective), so I bought a used one on ebay. Now I get the error-message: Wrong VIN (sorry I forgot to wright down the correct fault code).

I already know, that I have to code my VIN into the new control-unit and I found the old VIN in the file "SYSDATEN.TRC" by using this tutorial [Only for registered users... ]

But how do I get back the SYSDATEN.MAN (or TRC?) on the control-unit? Using "Verification"? And is this the right way to code the unit?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Germany

Hi. You can use winkfp tool for programming airbag unit with necessary VIN, or use special tools which can replace VIN in control modules. NCSExpert cannot change VIN.

Thanks for your tip.

But to use Winkfp I need the SP-Daten for my E85. And I dont have them.

Could I use Tool32, too? And do I need for it SP-Daten as well?

It works!

I found the necessary data for my E85 only and added this and the "base"-Data to Winkfp. Then I flashed the control unit with the correct VIN with Winkfp. Copied the "coding" from the old unit on the new one (NCSExpert) and finally sand "systemzeit starten" with the argument "1" per Tool32. After deleting the errors, the Airbag lamp goes off.

thanks for your support
