Default E90 can you flash/code used parts?

Newbie here. I'm wondering if it's possible to use a part off of another vehicle vs. buying new from the dealer. I have a 2011 328XI that needs a new LED module, I believe it's called a footwell module, it runs all the lighting supposedly. The car also needs a combox, transfer case control module, and airbag module. If I buy a used part that is compatible with the vehicle, can that used part be flashed/coded to my VIN? Or do I need to buy new parts from the dealer?

It can be done, but it needs some special equipment and/or special knowledge.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that would be a common thing - to buy used parts and have them recoded, but maybe not. I found a guy in Northern VA who codes BMW's but he told me he had never coded a new part, only changed the codes for windows, seat belt alarms, etc. He said he would give it a shot and try to marry the part to the VIN and see if he can do it.
