Default Early E46 Auto manual Swap NCS Expert

I have a 2001 E46 with the swap done and driving but the DSC light is on, The gear Indicator and the SES for the Auto trans Fault. I understand I need to modify the SA 2nd to last digit and subtract 8 from it and remove the last digit from GM and VN from another post. I would like to know if indeed that is correct and if so what software can I use to read out the changes I make to the SA GM and VN. Any help would be greatly appreciated. There are alot of different variations on the forum depending on tools used ect.. Thanks for your help. Darren

Hi, i have done it few days ago on same car. I read SA with NCS. Changed with ZCS and coded new SA with DIS. You must code Kombi,Ews,Lkm,GM. Then you must reprogram DME with manual software besides to operate cruise control(connect clutch switch). I used Winkfp to program DME.

I changed exhaust too and flashed with no catalyst software and car(330i) is now much faster then auto with stock exhaust.

Default Some success with NCS Expert

Thanks for the reply. I have an early e46 so it has KMB EWS GM I changed the KMB and That got rid of the gear fault light, Ews didnt want to accept changes, I flash DME with WInkfp to Euro With out eobd and unhooked TCM everything works gear indicator light went out, ses light is out but DSC light is still on and Yellow Brake light, Rpms still flare up when shifting. I dont think ews updated the SA. I am trying to figure this out. Any ideas? Thank you

You must unplug TCM/EGS before you start coding. I coded modified SA with Dis to almost all modules( I forgot to mention DSC before). Then car runs, but rpms still flare up when shifting until i programmed DME.

That makes sense. I didn't unhook the EGS until right before i did DME programming. it was still hooked up during the coding of SA from auto to manual I will try that. Thank you

I have a header with cat delete obx exhaust and light weight flywheel after I flashed the dme and reset adapts with inpa I can't believe how much better it runs, you can really feel the vanos working. What set up are you running in the 330i?
