Default Faulty Cable or Software?

I have a cable I received through a tune from TTFS for my E46. I can connect to bmwlogger and read all DME error codes. However, I can not get inpa or bmw scanner to work. I am not sure if there is a problem with the cable I have or what. I have tried soldering the pins before too. Do I need to get a new cable?
