Question Having problems with coding a AUX input

Hi, I've been trying to install a aux cable into my e60 but I've run into many problems. First, the cable I bought came with some incomplete software, using this software, I can try to execute a job in NCS expert and this error pops up:

Error in CABD! Look at CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG!
COAPI-2000: EDIABAS or SGBD error

I think its saying that Im missing a few files, so I have downloaded another copy from [Only for registered users... ]
I've gone through this installation successfully, but for some reason I can't connect to the car. INPA doesn't detect when i have the battery and ignition turned on . However, if I replace the EDAIBAS folder with the software my cable came with, it works fine unless i open NCS expert, which says there's some error with the api32.dll file.

The software that came with my cable had 2 versions of INPA, 5.0.1 and 5.0.2. INPA 5.0.2 just had 3 files while 5.0.1 had Instprog and a set of instructions to install the NCS Expert, INPA, and EDAIBAS however, i couldnt get it to install the BMW rectification program UK because of some missing LZH file.

The youtube video i'm going off of is [Only for registered users... ]

If someone could help me in some way that would be awesome, as Im only a beginner trying to learn some of this programming.

Also, its ok if I use a charger to maintain the battery while i have the ignition on and I'm programming right?
