Default Heated Seat Codeing

Hi I have just retrofitted a leather interior into my e91 touring and the front seats are heated. I have installed the heated seat switches, connected the loom and added the additional fuses to the fuse box but nothing!! Do I need to re-code my car to recognise the heated seats and if so how is this done.

Thanks in advance for any replies
