Default I gave up of fix an issue. Need help to disable the check plesae.

Hello Folks,

I took the car to two different dealers, both could not solve the issue.

Xenon head lights working fine. Both sides still "up and down" when I turn them on. No warnings, and all the bulbs checked.

The issue is I got "Cornering Lights Failure" all the time I start the car (after 5 to 8 seconds of engine running). And also after the warning on iDrive, the light switch starts to flash that little green light.

The car is a Bmw E60 550i

I did some research if was possible to code/disable cornering lights, to see if the issue would disappear, but I could not find that on the main modules.

I only saw in CAPPS an option to "ENABLE/DISABLE" cornering lights via iDRIVE. I coded it, but stills same issue.

Please, any tips? If not how to code, has anyone experienced this kind of problem on an E60?

Thanks a lot,

Search in KGM/KBM or LCM all WARMueberwachung
And
Kaltueberwachung
In FSW_PSW.
Set it for the right bulb to nicht_aktiv. And Save als *.MAN and Code it.

The Check from cornering lights will ne disabled.

But i think the fault is an other. Because the Green light comes up when an safty issue Is present like active light Control isnt working (steering light)

Read your LMA module and search for "AHL" and turn these all to not_active. That will disable the Cornering lights and will stop giving these fault codes.

What exactly did the dealer try to fix? AHL on E60 is not that difficult.

Its either:
  • AHL modules on headlight
  • Light module it self
  • Wiring break to the headlight
  • PT can wiring fault or other fault on the PT can

All of the above should cause a correspondin fault in ISTA. The way of just coding out the error is not the correct way of fixing the issues. Also if you code out the AHL option completely your self leveling work will not work. If you just remove the error warning (which is the SMC error warnings in the LM) you will just hide the codes.

More info on the car is probably neede as well, is it a pre 09/06? or an LCI? :) I will try to help you as much as i can.
EDIT: Just saw this was a really old post, but still. Its not the correct way, also you say in your profile that its a 2007 550i, that means it has an LM2 light module, that makes it a bit easier to diagnose.

If you want i can have a look via teamviewer.
