Default J2534 Pass Through BO failure

Thank you in advance for any insight. I searched but did not find the solution.

I recently updated my 2009 M3’s software using my J2534 pass through, Snap On approved tender, and ISTA/P software. I accepted the “recommended measures.” All programming was successful except for the MOST modules, BO in particular.

ISTA/P tried to write to the module. After a few hours it showed 2% complete and continued writing. Then an error appeared — Global.VehicleCommunications.CoAPI.2020 - control module not responding.

After another few hours, the write terminated and it went to other modules.

My subsequent researched showed that you shouldn’t write to MOST modules using the OBDII port. Oops. And thanks BMW software for the non-help. ISTA/P still can read the BO module, but it’s bricked in the car (no radio).

Any thoughts or ideas aside from going to the dealer and getting killed on a MOST bus update?

Thank you!
