Default New to coding and need advice

Hello all,

I am trying to code a second hand LCM to my 2001 E39 M5. I purchased BMW scanner 1.4.0 and have changed mileage/vin in order to remove tamper dot but i am having issues with none of my check controls not working ie low oil level, low washer level, no warning gongs when lights left on, speed limit set etc etc.

I have been told that i need to use NCS expert ( which i dont have ) to resotre to factory defaults. I've noticed that on BMW scanner 1.3.6 this is one of the options available but on V1.4.0 the option is greyed out.

However, i think there is an option to copy zcs/fa which i think contains original information needed to correctly code LCM.

Is this the same thing as restore to factory defaults?

New to all this coding so needing some advice on what exactly this BMW scanner 1.4.0 can do.

Thanks in advance for you help.
Gordon
