Default Possible to enable the "CODE" feature from the e53/e39/e38 on the e46?

[Only for registered users... ]

Shows the feature at 2:00

Anyone have any idea how we could enable this on the e46 with nav? Seems like we should have all the hardware, just an artificial software limitation stopping us...

Late e39 and e46 have the same EWS module, so pretty sure it's not a hardware limitation there. The nav, I believe, just looks to see what car it is and enabled features accordingly.

Interestingly, I also stumbled upon this e46 promo photo from 2002, on which the "code" feature exists, which makes me think the e46 hardware can support it:

So... currently thinking it's either something NCS can enable on the IKE or maybe use navcoder to change me nav to think it's in an e39.

Car has no DME at the moment, though, so I can't check.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Check out the youtube video starting at 2:00. I want to enable the "code" option on the nav menu screen, which allows you to add a code lock in addition to needing a key to start the car. Stock on the e39/e38/e53.
