Default Power supply OR no power supply

I am new to coding and intend to use NCSExpert/NCSDummy to delete the legal statement from my sat nav. screen, also add more blinks to the touch turn signals, do i need a power supply to maintain battery voltage for these steps?
If I do not need a constant voltage PS for this, for what processes would I need said power supply?
Thanks for any answers given
