Default updating & adding apps to ISID vmware

I've got ISIDR2 ISTAD 3.42 P52.3 Small on VMware.

I also use E-Sys, ETK, easy-connect, Itool-radar, etc. from my laptop. I'd like to have them all on the 1 VMware image. is this possible?

With the apps already installed (ista/p, ediabas, ptzdata) I'd like to update these when new versions come out. is there an updater tool or just copy files / folders over the top of the existing? if I have a .exe of a newer version, should I just redirect where it installs to or can I only uses ISIS updates? (no ISIS server)
