Default ads interface E46

I have an E46 318I 1999 and it has the obd connector under the dash and the 20 pin connector in the engine bay I was told to access all of the modules in my car I need to use the ads interface is this true and would the EDIABAS.ini file need to be changed to ads interface, I am using a obd11 cable with a 20 pin adapter for this connection

You don't need to change your .ini file
