Default Anyone succesfully printing from DIS VM?

Hey all,

I've got a good-ol' HP LaserJet printer with a conventional/legacy-compatible JetDirect on my home network, and created the necessary network and routes on my VMWare config to allow the DIS VM to reach it (i.e. 192.168.68.x -> 192.168.1.x), but for some reason printing doesn't work. When I go to print a diagnostic report, the LaserJet wakes up and briefly begins receiving a job, only to immediately revert back to an idle state. I've tried every single HP printer option on the list (including the JetDirect option), cleared the print queue each time, but my luck hasn't changed. Exactly the same behavior over and over. The interface doesn't seem to provide any diagnostic info or options whatsoever (no logs or console/shell access) which makes things more fun... Unless I'm somehow overlooking them?

The printer works fine from every OS, and from a Windows XP test instance within the same network in VMWare.

Before I go too much deeper into the diagnostics, I figured I'd check and see if anyone has had any luck with this.

Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, and under Administration -> Self-Test, the printer test reports OK but the same behavior described above (begins to spool the test page, then reverts to "Ready" almost immediately).

I haven't checked it, but maybe you should try to switch printer directly to VM and there try to install it?
