Default BMW X5 e70 2008

HI My car has the famous DSC / AWD malfunction. Dealer says I need to pay $2000 for new steering wheel sensor and pay for reprogramming. Anyone have an idea how to get around this? Appreciate any advice.

My experiance with AWD malfunction is faulty positioning motor on VTG. Can you describe your problem more detailed?
