Default Does V-checker V401 is suitable for layman need BMW scanner

I want to buy an easy-using BMW code reader; I am not professional at testing BMW car. It is said V-checker V401 will work even without plug USB port to computer, but the test result will display on the screen by plugging one OBD cable to BMW diagnostic socket.
