Default My mechanic told me I need a new engine.

I have a 2007 530I; 122,500 miles. I had it towed back from South Jersey Friday evening. It ran hot and I pulled over and called Triple A. Yesterday, my mechanic told me that I will need a new engine.
Has anyone purchased a rebuilt BMW engine? What is the estimated price. I checked on line and dialed a couple of engine shops this afternoon for estimates. Thanks.

This N version engines in your car is a common faults on them
As long as you engine overheated caused by faulty cooling system
You need to change the engine is cheaper and faster than rebuild your existing engine
Try to buy a used engine not rebuild one the used one out from damaged vehicles it comes complete try to check with a low Kms engine ask for the vin number of the damaged vehicle so you can check how many Kms done the car
Also with the used engine it wouldn't cost you a lot for labour for fitting

Good luck
