Default the best program

Hi all I was wanting to know witch program for the older bmws would be. I have a 1998 z3 and it uses the 20 pin connector. I am looking to diagnose and code the modules. Also were to get it. Thanks Jimmy

BMW Scanner (ebay cheap)
INPA with GT1/Progman(VMWARE) (ebay cheap, software can be download)
