Default BMW INPA Ediabas installation guide + software
You can download BMW INPA 5.0.2 (last version, includes NCSExpert and WinKFP) software here: http://bmwcoders.com/forum/1-post1.html (this set is fully tested by me).


Unpack INPA and run Programminstallation/setup.exe


Choose language:






Click “Next”:


Next step:




Next step:





Next step:





Next step:





Next step:





Next step:





Next step:





Next step:





Next step:





Next step (select STD:OBD even if you have DCAN cable) :





Next step (select COM port that your cable plugged in):





Next step:






Next step (click "skip" 3 times):



Next step:





Next step (restart your computer):

After restart:

Open :\Referenz2006\INSTALL\Instprog.exe

Click OK:



Choose language:


In next 2 windows click "Continue".

In next window choose BMW Group Rectification programs UK:



In next windows set 3 checmarks:



In next 2 windows click "Continue"



After copying click "END"

That's all. Enjoy.

If you have the USB version of the K-Line/ DCAN cable do you select USB-Serial Converter option under port selection if it is that type of cable? In other words, I don't have a USB to Serial Converter, however I am quite sure that my cable has that type of circuitry built into it. It is an FTDI cable that I bought off of eBay. Thanks in advance.

Kham, you don't need to select USB-Serial Converter option under port selection. This software supports BMW e39.

Tyler, thanks for the quick reply. I've read other places that you must select the USB to Serial Converter option if you have a USB OBD II cable. Could you please expand on the topic? Also, I installed the recommended software but it does not have e39 on any of the tabs for INPA. How do I enable the e39? Also, I am having issues locating OBD.ini in my al of my installs. I downloaded this file separately, configured it, and added to C:/Windows. Any idea why I couldn't find this file in Ediabas/ Bin originally? Thanks in advance.
