Default Help bumping M62 idle using DIS v57

car is 1997 540i auto 6/97 build date

I got the below about 2 months ago and have been doing ok with it. Fixed a few things here and there but am having a horribly low idle that leads to car buck when intial R/D, harsh down 2-1 shift, and even random turn off coming to stop or low speed turn/lock. Already addressed gasket leaks, new maf,new plugs, new VC gaskets, etc engine is 100% up to date on maint, and reset adaptations still idle really low .

500-520 ish rpm no ac --620ish rpm with iac on. rpms using software not cluster.

can I use anything else in the below to bump the idle or help me access the secret menu in dis.

many thanks!

DIS v57 & TIS, SSS v32, INPA Ediabas, NCSExpert 4.0.1

i tried following another guide i found and it shows the service function but branches out into nothing. here are the screen shots of what i tried in the service function and the only branch that shows idle but does nothing. click on thumbnail for larger image.

Well I think Im giving up for a while! so stopped trying to find the idle adjust option on the 97 540i since it involved using a OBD2 -> 20 pin adapter found under the hood. Again its worked flawless in accessing all modules and clearing coded in inpa and dis but for some reason i get the below error when trying to diagnose the dme. I said screw it let me try the same method on another car.

So to take the cabling out of the equation I tried to access the same menu on my 01 540i which only has the obd2 under the dash so no other adapters used. Again everything has worked flawless in inpa/dis before just never tried the Test feature before. I got the exact same error displayed below when trying TEST SCHEDULE. Quick tests work fine/quick delete works fine.

I had a low idle on my 98 540 after putting a lightweight flywheel in. I don't know how to fix the issue through coding but if you unplug the idle control valve the engine will run at 800rpm iirc. You will get a check engine light though..
