Default How To Get Started In This?

All:
I'd love to be able to connect to my E39 M5 and perform a VANOS test but I'm not sure how to get the software to do this.

There are lots of links and discussions about which cables to buy, but I'm stuck on the software part.

I've got a Dell Lattitude D505 running Windiows XP set aside for this project but I can't seem to get going. I keep running into dead-end download sites.

Thanks for any help you folks can provide.

John
