Default SSS cant read DSC part number and says to replace part ???

I posted this on another forum, so I thought I would give it a try here as well. If anyone can tell me what is happening and what I need to do I would great appreciate it as DSC is a very expensive part.

---------------------------------------------------------------
So I finally got SSS working and full of excitement went to program the car and update all the modules. However SSS had other ideas, telling me to replace the DSC before any programming can take place. Now, here is where things get interesting. I have no errors from the car in DIS, everything works as it should but:

The 7 Digit Id SSS picked up for the DSC is not the same as the one installed. Because it asks me to input the number of the DSC and when I put the one thats actually on the part it just keeps asking for the number again, until I put the one that it picked up.

So it says the 7 digit part number is
6775387
but the car has installed
6775388

I bought the car used so I have no idea if anything was ever replaced. I will also upload some screenshots, can anyone tell me what is going on here or what or might not have happened as I don't think I should replace a working DSC unit :P

Also, I just had a look at the price for a new DSC unit, I will definitively not be replacing it unless its on fire :P

did you ever get a fix for this? I just replaced a few modules with used ones, so I am anticipating a few problems when I do get around to coding.

What's the point of these boards if no one ever post a solution?

I found the OP on another board where he posted the same problem.

Greetings
I went trough the same thing but want to try programming the DSC unit independently first using Win KFP to the number recommended by the progmann software and then carrying out the rest of the coding/programming session. I will keep you posted on results. I was using version 41 of progman myself.
