Default SSS V32 - Can't read vehicle order on a 2007/03 E87

Hello there,

I have SSS V32 running within VMWare and I am using a K+DCAN USB cable.

I have been able to use this configuration to code CKM functions on a 2007/08 E85 Z4M Roadster (with an attachment block on the OBD cable which I believe splits pins for older models), so I know the base configuration and architecture works.

I have a 2007/03 E87 120i which I am having problems with, DIS works fine on this car but when I try and use SSS the screen shows "Reading vehicle order" for a few minutes upon which point I get the error message:

"Information on a vehicle from the model series E89 could not be determined.

Use the diagnosis function to make sure that access to the vehicle is possible via the Gateway control unit (ZGM on E65).

If not yet done, end the Progman session with End and switch to diagnosis, otherwise continue with Checked."
Can anyone help? I have applied the various changes.iso's. I have also tried to code the car using NCS expert and this works no problem at all, so the problem is limited to SSS.

I have read some conflicting information, some saying that cars after 2007 03 cannot be coded using SSS and others saying that you need to update the Daten files because the Daten files in SSS could be older than what the car needs.

Any opinions?

SSS is too old, use ISTA P.

Mixing SSS with newer Daten files can lead to enexpected problems. Don't do this!
