Default Updating Existing Installs / Best flashing method / Which Charger

Hi everyone. I have an existing installation of INPA, which I updated using the files linked to in the sticky post.

I also have DIS 57 and SSS 32, in virtual machines. I forget where I got them in the first place. The problem is this - I'm trying to check to see if there are any DME or EGS updates.

According to SSS there are, and I looked through the .HIS files following the ZB numbers for my original to the next revision, and so forth, until I see the number which was printed out by SSS. That was with V32. I have just downloaded the first two files of V41, which has the SP-Daten files for E46. My questions are:

What's the easiest way to find out if there are updates available? Same way?

What's the best flashing method - WinKFP or SSS? How do I make SSS see the updated files - just overwrite the existing? I know there's a process for WinKFP.

What battery charger is everyone using during flashing? I have a Sears "automatic" battery charger that can do 2A,10A, or a 50A starting mode. Will this work?
