Question ENET cable no connection at all....

Hi Guys,

I have just got myself ESYS 3.25 and pszdata, installed on windows 7 and windows xp. All seems ok, apart from 1 vital step...

When i connect the ENET cable (i have 2 of these) i get no network connection at all. Nothing, not a zip, zilch. I do not have a BMW yet but one is on its way next week, but i wanted to get the software running. I plugged the cables into my current car to get power.

Any ideas why no connection on the LAN port?

It's because your ESYS will detect your Connection to the cars central Gateway first when there is a signal on the other Side of this cable. Sometimes several cables will only work, when a ingnition signal is given. So the internal chipset will be powered by carside not from your laptop.

And yes, i know there is only a wire to wire connection inside this enetCable without any chipsets inside of the plug ;)
