Default ISIS Icom connection issue

Hi,

I am new to this forum but have found alot of info on it.

I have got a native install of ISIS. I have been having a few issues with the connection to the ICOM.

On the connection manager, the system can see the ICOM but is showing a status of red. Also the sam thing when i attempt to do a vehicle read out. I have tried many things like updating the firmware to the latest version (3.2) but am getting the same issue, checking the lan cable with no luck.

I have attached some screenshots.

I get 2 leds on the icon, 1st one is constant and the second flashes occasionally.

Does the MAc address of the ICOM need to be in some config files?

I am not sure if it is a clone (china made) or original. How ever I have noticed that that it had a different ip address of 169.254.205.42 and a different MAC address to a clone but not 100% sure which one it is,

Any help would b much appreciated.

Thanks
Zak

click on new device in WSM, connect ICOM. power on ICOM and then click twice on register. A fax sheet will be generated with the serial ID of the ICOM. Note that serial and close the sheet. Then go to offline registration and follow the instructions.

Note: you have to get an registration code based on the serial ID to register ICOM or any other device in WSM.

Registration code can only be generated by BMW or with the tool Itool key gen. If you don't have this, I can help you.

???
Sure you are in the right menu/program?
New device is never grayed out since you must be able to register devices to ISIS

Start ISIS (that's the server, it's not ISID!! or ISSS!!)
On the startup page there will be at least 4 entries (ISIS, ISIS-ISTA, ISIS-ETK and ISIS-ISPA)
These should be all marked with a green dot. In dependency of other devices allready registered there can be entries like ICOM1, ISISD1 or ISSS1, too.
In your case, ICOM1 will not be shown, right?

I think you are looking in the wrong place for the new device button. Do you have ISIS server running at all?

Hi,

Many thanks for your reply.

I thought it was strange to see the new device grayed out too.
I think that ISIS is running. I think That i may be going to the wrong section, I list the steps that I have taken,

I am using a native install on a laptop.

When I turn the laptop on, i wait for it to load and wait for it to initilise.
Once done, I click onto the WSM icon.
Click in overview tab.
On the botton left, i can see a new device button but it seems to be grayed out. I can see icom1. I have attached a screenshot of what i can see.

Thanks
Zak
