Default ISTA license, activation

As you can see I am new in the forum and can't find the relevant info by searching, even though it may be there already....

I am trying to help a friend who has WSM installed in hard drive (ebay..). WSM opens well and then menu option ISTA-programming opens just fine as well as Workshop System Management. When trying to open ISTA (Technical Information, Diagnosis, Measurements) menu option it opens a screen saying:

License warning! Unfortunately your local copy is no activated yet (and so on...) and when moving forward it asks to enter name and email, and then in the next screen it asks to send registration information.

Is there a way around this?
