Default AK90 problem

I have just bought an AK90 EWS programmer basically as a cheaper option than being ripped off 150 for a key . I wish to create duplicate keys for my E53 and also one for my son's E39

I have received it (from China ) so assume that it is a copy.

I have installed the software and the drivers but can't get it to communicate with the unit .No matter what I choose in the program I get 'Please read the AK90 key first'

Looking at the genuine AK90 there is a security key that you need to put into the unit before it will work, is this a function of the copy unit ?

Does anyone have the chinese version and is there a security key provided or has this been bypassd ?

Default Solved

Solved this one ! It turned out to be a faulty (NEW ) USB lead that came with the AK90
