Default F25 mileage correction

hi, most of the reading ive done to learn how to correct the mileage on my '12 F25 X3 has said what i need to do is install a CAN filter inside the cas4 module; then correct the odometer 'in the 35160 inside the instrument cluster', or they also called it '160DQWQ EEPROM'.

i dont know what they mean by 35160 or 160DQWQ, and googling hasnt come up with any results. are there any gurus around that could help explain the process?

In this models you need programmer for eeprom 160dwq ,wich can erase incremental area, wich mean first 2 lines from dump.
Not all programmers can erase that.
In case you need to modify VIN or write higher value in odo you not need programmer with eraser ability!
For CAS (FEM) always use CAN filter specialy in your case

thanks for the info. after alot more reading im more familiar with f25 correction. i did find this programmer/erase :[Only for registered users... ]

it can erase and write incremental data (wrinc) but the editor is hex based and does not provide a calculator inside. i have read that i should DUMP the eeprom, then use r270 software to load the .bin, edit odometer, save .bin, then ERASE m35160, WRITE the edited .bin to M35160, and finally WRINC the
edited .bin to the chip.

can you confirm this sounds about right? if not, can you recommend another eraser/programmer and software?

Autodiagnoza :

still wondering how you would like to modify VIN without R270 programmer with which is blank VIN needed before installation and coding of used cluster.
Can you please advise ?
