Default Change mileage upwards on M35080 IKE Chip

Hi guys,

I want to change my IKE Milage to the corresponding LCM Mileage, because the previous owner has lowered it about 100.000 Kilometers.

I have purchased the PA Soft Interface and when I try to change the odometer the Program tells me that it's not possible to change the mileage on a M35080 Chip.

Is there any possibility I can change my mileage back to the original level of 298.000 kilometers instead of 198.000 kilometers?

Thanks for your replys!

On another forum there is a long discussion about this. It seems that the IKE will only accept a "write" of data if there is an appropriate speed signal.
In the "PA soft" there is a picture of the IKE pinouts, but no explanation or documentation. It shows the pin for the speed sensor, which varies by model.
It seems that a signal of 2Khz is required on this pin, with ignition on but engine not running. This appears to equate to 20 km/hr. Why, I wonder?
I have exactly the same problem after changing my E38 cluster for a legible one.
Does anybody out there know a simple circuit to generate such a signal?
