Default Changing Modes on GM3 Module

Hi all , i'm playing around with a GM3 module using PA.Soft BMW Scanner 1.4 on the bench (just for fun). I can read the eeprom on the GM3 fine, read & clear the errors etc but when i try to change the mode to /from Transpoirt to Normal it just comes back with the error SETTING MODE:FAIL

Anyone got any ideas ?

It works on both GM 3 modules i have lying around so its not specific to one module.

Thanks in advance

Graham
