Default Pa-Soft ebay ?

99 528i touring
Air bag lamp comes and goes then triggers locks, flashers and interior lamps, this indicates a crash has occurred.
My Snap on brick will not read the air bag module could it be the software version or will Pa-Soft work. I am assuming if I have a issue with the Srs it should still read the codes Snap-on says no communication.
Ready to buy one, the Pa-soft site want 650 dollars what's with the 9.95 to 50.00 devices on eBay?
I see a lot of Chinese offerings but want to stay clear looking at a device from England, is this the same as the offerings from Pa-Soft, hard to believe the price differential.
Any recommendations?

Since my post the airbag lamp is on all the time, the only change is passenger seat was used. I am at the point that I need to trace the circuits, power and ground from the Srs module. Information on the pin outs for the seats are lacking I would assume tracing each circuit from the Srs would be the way to go. What type of resistance should I observe for each group when using a Dvm with battery disconnected?
Since I cannot read the codes from the 20-pin on my Snap-on 2500 "all other functions scan and no codes" the data line is either loaded down or some type of connection issue. I would like advise on a starting place.
Thanks

Check fuse 11 in fuse box.

It was the module replaced and now working, trying to get software working to recode it due to seat option.

Default Coding or adding passenger seat sensor

Spoke to dealer says have to buy new module due to being car spacific. The new module has the passenger seat sensor that is missing from my year. Can I code this out or add some type of bypass so the sensor shows as active to the module?

Too help others I used 2-100ohm resistors and a 4001 diode in series, connected to the airbag connector. The positive of the 4001 needs to be on the blue wire. Cleared the code now lamp is off.
