Default V2.20 similar to 1.40?

I have been using pa soft 1.40 for some years on my E46. But now i have a 2008 E92 M, i am looking at 2.20. Been using 2.01 a tiny bit on a friends E90, as i did not realise it wont work on mine . But just obviously gives you error codes rather than descriptions. So pretty useless imo.

Is 2.20 different, or better? As i loved 1.40, as it was so simple, and with check boxes was very user freindly. But from reading it seems on NCS will do coding now, so is 2.20 actually worth getting? Or is DIS and NCS the only options?

Thanks for any help
