Default Ipod connectivity issue

Good evening
I have just joined, looking for some advice please.
Bought and fitted Ipod connectivity kit for my 2006 E90, all went well was powering up the ipod. Booked car into the dealers to get coded, thought this was the only way?? Dealer rebooted all software on car, connectivity working but as soon as the ignition went off the coding was lost. They diagnosed a faulty module. I got onto my supplier got another module and it still doing the same thing. When it was connected to ISTA P it found the kit and successfully programmed the car as per the report I got but keeps dropping the coding when you switch off ignition.
Any help anyone has is greatly appreciated.
Also is there any other software out there that allows you to code the car yourself? I have had Vauxhalls in the past and have all the kit for them but need something more for BM?
