Default Hello bmw gurus!

My name is Wasim, ive been working on bmws for the best part of 10 years 8 in an independent garage then into a dealership for 2.

I have since left the dealership to start my own business and bought myself an Ista D/P which is like my second brain.

I know how to use both programmes but im learning as i go along.
one thing that puzzles me is why i cannot programme with either the inpa cable or the ethernet cable, ive read somewhere that only an icom can be used to programme and code? if anyone could shed some light on that would be most appreciated.

I am a bmw nut through and through, i currently own an e30 318is a 1973 2002ti and a 320d compact msport

ive had an e28 and around 3 e36's too and im only 27 lol

based in Birmingham uk
