Default Hi

Hi everyone, well I am here like many of you seeking information regarding diagnostic and coding of my BMW. I am a retired engineer, live in Germany and feel that now I have sufficient time to start "looking after my E39" on my own. I ow a BMW528iA , 1999 model. Except driving and reading failure codes I have done nothing sofar. I intend to start looking into coding and therefore I am trying to find out, first of all, what I need and where I can get the necessary tools, especially the software, and while doing this, I came across "bmwcoders".
And here I am.
Hope to receive your help. Thanks in advance.
